Regardless of which vet fee limit you choose; you can claim up to that limit within the 12 months of your policy period. If your policy is then renewed, without any gaps in cover, your vet fee limit is ‘reset’ so that you can claim up to that limit. Again, in the next 12 month policy period. This means chronic, and long-term conditions can be covered for each year that your pet policy is continually renewed with us. We are unable to cover any pre-existing conditions known about, advised, or treated prior to your first policy with us.
All Leisure Guard Pet insurance customers can take advantage of 24/7 access to our one-to-one video appointment service through our partnership with FirstVet, a digital veterinary clinic supported by registered UK vets. If your cat or dog gets unsettled by trips to the vets or you are unable to easily make it into the vets but have concerns about your pet’s health or well-being, you will have free access to the FirstVet app. Through the app, you can book an appointment and speak directly to a vet, who can then refer you to a local veterinary practice, if necessary.
If your pet is missing, then we’ll do what we can to help. Our cover includes the cost of missing pet posters, local advertising costs and even a £250 reward. Maximum amount for advertising and reward cover is £1,500 and your pet must have been missing for over 24 hours. If your pet has gone missing for more than 90 days due to straying or theft, we can pay you the original purchase price of your pet. Maximum amount is £1,500 and the claim must be submitted within 180 days of the date that your pet first went missing.
